Car Lifts & Through-the-Floor Lifts
A residential car lift moves a vehicle between levels or stacks two vehicles in one bay. It is the answer when the lot cannot get any wider, when the garage sits below the flood line, or when the collection outgrew the floor.
02 How It Works

Vehicle elevator
A hydraulic or traction platform in an enclosed shaft that carries a car between a ground level entry and a garage on another floor. This is the configuration used in narrow urban lots and in elevated coastal homes where the living floor and the parking floor are not the same floor.
Parking stacker
A four post or two post platform inside an existing garage that lifts one vehicle and lets a second park underneath. It needs ceiling height rather than floor area, so the constraint is the header height at your garage door and the clear height at the platform.
Specialty and custom platforms
Boat and equipment lifts, golf cart platforms, and one-off applications where nothing off the shelf fits. These start as an engineering conversation about load, cycle count, and where the machine can live, and they are quoted from drawings rather than a catalog.
What installation involves
Concrete comes first. Vehicle lifts impose real point loads, so the slab either gets verified or gets replaced with an engineered pad. After that it is the shaft or post structure, the hydraulics, the controller, and a three phase or heavy single phase circuit. Plan on one to three weeks depending on configuration.
